Transportation Behavior Analyst

Ms. Auguste is a transportation behavior analyst at the Connecticut Transportation Institute (CTI) at the UConn. Conducting social science research in roadway transportation, her primary focus is on the influences and impositions on travel and driver behavior. Her research involves analyzing statewide data (crash, toxicology, in-patient hospital) to identify vulnerable populations and patterns of behavior that are positively correlated with increased motor vehicle crash risk. Her research has won national recognition (2019 AASHTO Sweet Sixteen award) and has been published in several academic journals including Accident Analysis and Prevention and Transportation Research Part F: Traffic Psychology and Behaviour. She is also the owner and author of the popular traffic psychology blog, Drivers Behaving Badly, which has garnered readers in over 73 countries. In addition to her research interests, Ms. Auguste enjoys practicing yoga, watching true crime documentaries, reading, and spending time with her family in her free time.

Current research projects: COVID-19's impact on driver behavior, cannabis use and driving, the linkage of crash, toxicology, public health, and citation data.
